Few names stand out in the Winnipeg real estate market like John Pearson’s does. Since becoming a commercial and industrial agent in 1985, John’s sales volume is over $362 million, and he has leased over 7.8 million square feet of building area. John has also coordinated the development of over 5 million square feet of building area throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario. His expertise comes from experience in a wide variety of projects and is proven over four decades of hard work and devotion to his clients.
John Pearson graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Winnipeg in 1979 and a Masters in Natural Resources Management in 1982 from the University of Manitoba, with a thesis in location theory as it relates to industrial land development.
The path he took to becoming one of his home province’s premier brokers started South of the border. Prior to and after graduation from his master’s degree, John worked with a family land use planning and development firm from 1980 to 1984 in Houston, Texas. This included being the marketing/development manager on a 30 Acre development project, an experience that gave John development experience at an early stage in his career. From then on, he was ready to take his knowledge back to a community he loved.
In July of 1993, John returned to Winnipeg and became jointly involved with various commercial real estate brokerages and developments in several provinces. From securing the real estate and providing the development services for all the Home Depot locations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan & Northwest Ontario; and many of the Loblaws, Costco and Walmart locations in Manitoba. As well, John provided real estate brokerage services for all Staples locations in Manitoba & Saskatchewan, all Ashley locations from Ontario to British Columbia, as well as several Sobeys, Dufresne & Save-On locations. John has built his reputation on putting his client’s needs first.
John thinks like an owner as he is an owner with a considerable portfolio of commercial, office and industrial real estate;; including but not limited to being the owner of Westport in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Costco anchored Mixed Use Development on 74 acres of land), Walmart anchored Selkirk Crossing and Canalta Hotel anchored Selkirk Crossing North. In addition, John was the lead developer and former 1/3 owner in the Corral Centre in Brandon, Manitoba (500,000 SF of retail/office buildings on 30 acres of land) and several other projects in Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario and Saskatchewan.
To John, it is a matter of working with people to achieve a common goal. No matter how big the project is, where it’s located or how long it takes, John presents his clients with a clear vision and the best way to get there, exhibiting every single day that to develop real estate, the first thing you need to build is trust.
